Bookkeeping Clerk

Cottage Dream Vacations (CDV) is a dynamic and fast-growing hospitality startup headquartered in Whitby, dedicated to building five-star cottage resorts across Canada. We are also proud to be a leading provider of real estate training and education. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an exceptional Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and contribute to the next stage of our growth.
This key role reports directly to the Director of Finance. Join us as we reshape the future of hospitality and real estate education in Canada!
Your responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial data
  • Maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
  • Post journal entries and assist with month-end processes
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and workflows
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Support the finance team with additional tasks as required
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism

Experience that you bring to the table: 
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, accounts payables and receivables, financial record-keeping
  • Experience working with Quickbooks Online preferred
  • Proficiency with diverse digital platforms and software applications (MS office)
  • Post secondary education in a related field an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
